I’ve been a coach most of

my adult life.

I’ve coached kids just learning how to move. I’ve coached competitive athletes with big goals. I’ve coached professionals who had already lived the dream and did find joy in their game again. No matter the level, one thing has always been clear to me: how athletes are coached matters more than what they are coached.

Over the years, I’ve seen what happens when sport is done well. I’ve also seen the damage caused by fear, pressure, and environments that forget there is a human being inside the uniform.

Coaching has never been about wins for me. It’s about helping people grow — learning how to work, how to handle mistakes, how to believe in themselves, and how to keep going when things get hard.

Nine years ago, we lost our son, brother, Uncle, and friend Brett.

I don’t lead with that, and I don’t coach from that place. But it changed how I see a coaches responsibility. It deepened my belief that culture matters, that words matter, and that how coaches show up for young people matters, more than they often realize.

H Squared exists because we believe sport can — and should — be in a culture where kids feel safe, capable, and encouraged to be their selves and grow. Where kiddos are taught how to move their bodies athletically , compete with respect, find joy in effort.

This is the first time in my life that my purpose feels bigger than results, bigger than reputation, and bigger than myself. It feels like a calling, something Brett and I could have done together.

I'm thoughtful in how I coach. I prepare. I care. I hold standards. I lead with kindness and accountability, because I believe you can’t have one without the other.

If your child trains at H Squared, they will be coached by people who take that responsibility seriously.

That’s my promise.
